It is believed that an elderly lady named Kelli used to sell this Chana snack under a tree in Manipur. And, local people started flocking around the tree to buy a snack from her. Many people have tried to recreate her recipe. But, failed to make it taste like the original. But still, the present taste of Kelli Chana is very tasty.
Boiled Chana mixed with chopped onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, coriander leaves, and spice powders makes it more delicious. Beside, this snack is rich in proteins and healthy.
4. Jadoh from Meghalaya –
Jadoh is a very popular dish in Meghalaya. And, it is rice cooked with pork meat or fish with a mix of green chilies, chopped onions, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, vegetable oil, and bay leaves. In addition, turmeric mixed with rice gives rich yellow color and an aromatic flavor.
5. Bamboo Shoot from Arunachal Pradesh –
Bamboo shoots have a sweet and sour flavor which prepared using mustard seeds and garlic. From boiled vegetables to meat and from pickles to chutneys, every dish in Arunachal Pradesh cooked using bamboo shoots.
6. Misa Mach Poora from Mizoram –
Misa Mach Poora a favorite dish in North-East India and it is very easy to cook. However, the dish traditionally made by roasting the shrimp on banana leaves placed on hot charcoals. The shrimp served with rice. And, if you love seafood, this Mizo dish prepared for you.
7. Singju from Manipur –
Singju a type of salad that prepared with chopped cabbage, cauliflower, beans, coriander leaves, onions, tomatoes, and ginger. In addition, lotus stems, raw papaya, banana flower, the Singju leaf, and chili powder also added to the salad. This dish very popular not only in Manipur but also famous in neighboring states. This salad very healthy and diet food for all-age.
