The temples in the Himalayan towns of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh have a powerful religious aura and are situated in picturesque locations.

One such temple is located in Chail – a hill station in Himachal Pradesh. Flanked by the HP cities of Shimla and Solan on either side, it is roughly 44-45 km from either.

Chail (Kandaghat Tehsil) is famous for its salubrious beauty and virgin forests. The Hindu temple Kali Ka Tibba, commonly referred to as Kali Mata Temple, is located on top of a tiny hill in the picturesque village of Chail, close to Shimla in Himachal Pradesh.

One of the most respected gods in Hinduism, Goddess Kali, is honored in this temple. This temple is a well-liked tourist destination and an important destination for pilgrims. Maharaja Bhupinder is said to have constructed the shrine around the year 1844.

The temple also has beautiful idol of HANUMAN JI with a WISH TREE beside it making the temple even more aesthetic, pleasing and soothing.

How And When To Visit Kali Ka Tibba

The nearest airport is Shimla and you can reach this beautiful place by boarding the Kalka-Shimla the toy-train. If you start from Kalka, it takes five hours to reach Chail.

Taxis are available from Kandaghat as well as Chail Market. Though, Kali Ka Tikka is at the highest peak, it is not far away from Chail market. It is only about 8/9 Kms from the market.

The temple is especially crowded during the annual Kali Puja festival, which is celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm.

The temple opening timings every day are 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

The best time of the year to visit is March to October
